To God be all the our boys have progressed to the semi final of the 2018 edition of Ramat Cup after defeating Borno State via penalty. The boys woke up this morning with the joy of yesterday’s victory over Sokoto State in the round of 16 match but it was obvious to every member of the team that the next challenge is the quarter final match against Borno State.

They started the day with their early morning prayers and they had breakfast by 7:30 am, at exactly 9am it was time for pre match meeting with the coaching crew.

The bus left the hotel (kano Guest Inn) at about 10:20am for Mahaha Sports Complex in Kano.

The quarter final match against Borno State was scheduled for 11:30 am.

Coach Wakeel Tunde started with the same players that won the round of 16 match against Sokoto State.

How we started today’s match.

Goalkeeper: Oyenuga Farouq

Defenders : Chimezie (2) Emmanuel (3) Habeeb (5) Ismail (6)

Midfielders : Udofia (4) Favour (8) Lawal (10)

Attackers : Yusuf (9) Miracle (7) Samuel (11) (Captain)

Borno State gave a good account of their self as they dominated both half  in terms of possession but Lagos State (oasis football academy U16) were very solid at the back. The game ended 0-0 and penalty was inevitable.

While Lagos State scored one and lost one in their first two kicks, Borno State lost their first two penalties. After 6 penalties kicks from each team, the game ended 4-3 in favour of team Lagos. One more time goal keeper Oyenuga Farouq was the hero of the day after saving two penalties.

Our next mach would be against Kebbi State tomorrow the 18th of February, 2018 at the Kano Pillars Stadium Sabon-Gari, by 11:30am Nigeria time. The first semi final match would be against Kwara State and the host State (Kano) at the same venue.
